Council 12150 responds after tornado in Wetumpka

On January 19th, an EF2 tornado hit the city of Wetumpka. The Church of the Holy Spirit Council 12150 immediately started coordinating with local and county Emergency Medical Services as to what needs they could provide for this disaster. The EMS determined there was a need to have onsite feeding of first responders. Brother Knights from Council 12150 responded within hours. During the time onsite, the team fed 90 first responders. The team consisted of Mark Bruton, Perry Burden, Michael Mest and Shane McKenny.  State Deputy commended the men and the council saying, “These men embody our dedication to charity.  We Knights of Columbus always stand ready to help wherever, whenever we are able.  It is an honor to serve those who serve others in our community.”

Hurricane Michael; Our Help is Needed

There is great need in NW Florida for aid and assistance.  We have been asked by the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee to assist in a specific way by providing manpower to help receive and redistribute goods that are being trucked to the area.  Currently, the volunteers on-hand cannot keep up with the massive demand, and so aid is being delayed.  If you can help, or to learn more about what is being requested of us, please visit: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0d4da5aa28a7fd0-hurricane Information such as Locations, Dates, Times and Specific Needs can all be found by visiting the link above!
