On November 6th, Jerry Brecher, State Special Olympic Chairman and State Deputy Bill Mores attended the Alabama Special Olympics Meeting and Awards Luncheon where they were recognized as the 2024 Outstanding Organization.  This award recognizes all the man-hours and financial support that councils from all around Alabama give to this wonderful organization.  Thank you councils for all you do to support the Special Olympics!   A special thank you to Jerry Brecher, our State Special Olympic Chairman, for many years of involvement with this organization and keeping us informed as to how we can support them. Honoring the Feast of the Visitation Join us in Prayer To Protect Human Life! Thursday January 9, Thru Friday January 17, 2025 A Novena for Life sponsored by Knights of Columbus Alabama State Council and hosted by the Alabama Knights on Bikes will be held from January 9th until January 17th to pray for a culture of life and civilization of love in our community, nation and world.  Each evening beginning at 7pm Central Time, attendees may join via Zoom (Invitations available by contacting: kofcalkob@gmail.com) we will also broadcast on the “Knights on Bikes - Alabama” Facebook page. Dear Brother Knights,       Have you ever wondered “Why does My Council Only Get The Silver Rose for one (1) Day, or Why I cannot reserve it on a specific date or why it cannot be received for our usually scheduled Mass.      There are approximately 137 Parishes and missions throughout the Great State of Alabama and the state will host the “Silver Rose” for just 30 days before it moves on to Mississippi.      There are a total of 8 routes, that all start their journey in late February or early March, across North America. September 9, 2024 Publicity photo should be taken. If soliciting on street corners; police department should be notified of campaign date(s) and their permission received.   If soliciting at stores; managers' permission to stand outside entrance should be requested. A Novena for Life sponsored by Knights of Columbus Alabama State Council will be held from January 21st until January 29th to pray for a culture of life and civilization of love in our community, nation and world.  Each evening beginning at 8pm Central Time, attendees may join on the phone or via the internet to lift our voices in prayer.  This year, we will also hold prayers in Spanish beginning at 8:15pm Central Time. A novena is a period of sustained prayer over nine days for a particular intention. “Tootsie Roll” 5K Run/Walk in support of Madison City Schools Intellectual Disabilities students

The Knights of Columbus of Madison is conducting a fundraising drive during the months of October and November 2019 as part of a nationwide campaign, held annually, to aid local agencies that support people with Intellectual Disabilities. This year we are conducting our second annual 5K Run/Walk in an effort to increase our fundraising and involve the community. In addition to our standard methods of storefront (stand in storefronts and hand out Tootsie Rolls) and pass through solicitations (facilitate the donations from businesses directly to an agency), our “Tootsie Roll” 5K Run/Walk provides the opportunity for community participation and support. The 5K will be held on November 2, 2019 at the Bradford Creek Greenway, with the race start and finish at Heritage Elementary School. ...
