I just returned from the annual Knights of Columbus Warriors to Lourdes pilgrimage. It was a trip of a lifetime and I appreciate the planning and sponsorships that allowed me to participate. Every year the Knights of Columbus sends a U.S. delegation to Lourdes on a pilgrimage and also to participate in the Pelerinage Militaire International (PMI), which is a multi-national pilgrimage that involves approximately 12,000 people from 50 countries. Members of the Alabama Knights of Columbus from across the
state gathered on April 26th, 27th, and 28th
in Birmingham to share fellowship, elect officers, and celebrate Divine Mercy
Sunday at the Hilton Birmingham at UAB hotel and conference center at their 116th
annual state convention.
With nearly 2 million members, the Knights of Columbus are the world’s largest lay-Catholic family fraternal benefits society. Founded in 1882 by Fr. Michael J. McGivney, the men of the Knights of Columbus are dedicated to their principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. In 2017 alone, the Knights of Columbus worldwide provided charitable work with an unprecedented $185.6 million in donations and 75.6 million hours of service provided worldwide.

A Novena for Life sponsored by Knights of Columbus Alabama State Council will be held from May 5th until May 13th to pray for a culture of life and civilization of love in our community, nation and world. Each evening beginning at 8pm Central Time, attendees may join on the phone or via the internet to lift our voices in prayer.
A novena is a period of sustained prayer over nine days for a particular intention. Community members are encouraged to pray in their homes or to join us via telephone or online on each of the nine days of the novena.The protection of life is a sustained prayer intention of the Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus. Brothers,
Bill Mores has worked with the hotel to extend our registration deadline until April 11. We still have rooms to fill and if we don't fill them, then the State has to either pay for the rooms or pay a penalty. Please help us be good stewards by booking a room NOW. Congratulations to the families of Mark Griffith of Council 4083 in Tuscaloosa and Lee La Voy of Council 11480 in Enterprise. They were the Alabama family out of the 100 “Family of the Month” reporting forms drawn at random from among all entries received at the Supreme Council office for the month.
