LST-325 in Port Decatur

The LST-325, the only operational Landing Ship, Tank (LST) in WWII configuration afloat in US waters, is in Port Decatur now through the evening of Tuesday, September 3, 2019.   Sir Knight Steve Gentz, Past Grand Knight of Council 11672 and member of the Fourth Degree, serves as a volunteer crewman on this vessel and spends part of each year sailing it to different areas in the country for the public to tour and see a piece of history.  This ship is entirely volunteer supported with all income coming from visitors touring the ship during the annual cruise and at its home port in Evansville, IN.  The primary mission of the USS LST Ship Memorial is to educate its visitors to the role of the LST in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.  It is th...

United States Marine Corps Master Sgt. Ryan Leach, a member of Knights of Council 4083 in Tuscaloosa, AL, shared the following after returning from Lourdes France earlier this week. Learn more about the program at the Warriors to Lourdes website. I just returned from the annual Knights of Columbus Warriors to Lourdes pilgrimage. It was a trip of a lifetime and I appreciate the planning and sponsorships that allowed me to participate. Every year the Knights of Columbus sends a U.S. delegation to Lourdes on a pilgrimage and also to participate in the Pelerinage Militaire International (PMI), which is a multi-national pilgrimage that involves approximately 12,000 people from 50 countries. A Novena for Life sponsored by Knights of Columbus Alabama State Council will be held from May 5th until May 13th to pray for a culture of life and civilization of love in our community, nation and world.  Each evening beginning at 8pm Central Time, attendees may join on the phone or via the internet to lift our voices in prayer. A novena is a period of sustained prayer over nine days for a particular intention.
