A Novena for Life sponsored by Knights of Columbus Alabama State Council will be held from January 21st until January 29th to pray for a culture of life and civilization of love in our community, nation and world.  Each evening beginning at 8pm Central Time, attendees may join on the phone or via the internet to lift our voices in prayer.  This year, we will also hold prayers in Spanish beginning at 8:15pm Central Time. A novena is a period of sustained prayer over nine days for a particular intention. “Tootsie Roll” 5K Run/Walk in support of Madison City Schools Intellectual Disabilities students

The Knights of Columbus of Madison is conducting a fundraising drive during the months of October and November 2019 as part of a nationwide campaign, held annually, to aid local agencies that support people with Intellectual Disabilities. This year we are conducting our second annual 5K Run/Walk in an effort to increase our fundraising and involve the community. In addition to our standard methods of storefront (stand in storefronts and hand out Tootsie Rolls) and pass through solicitations (facilitate the donations from businesses directly to an agency), our “Tootsie Roll” 5K Run/Walk provides the opportunity for community participation and support. The 5K will be held on November 2, 2019 at the Bradford Creek Greenway, with the race start and finish at Heritage Elementary School. ...

Fourth Degree Exemplification in Daphne, Alabama October 26, 2019

I have attached details on an exemplification of the Fourth Degree to be held on October 26, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne, Alabama.  Please pass the information along to anyone who may be interested in joining the Fourth Degree of our Order and help them get the Form 4 completed and submitted.  Forms 4 and fees need to be in my hand on or before October 18.  Please send me names of interested candidates via email so that I know to be looking for the forms and fees.  We must have a minimum of 20 candidates to make this work.   I look forward to hearing from you and/or your candidates.

LST-325 in Port Decatur

The LST-325, the only operational Landing Ship, Tank (LST) in WWII configuration afloat in US waters, is in Port Decatur now through the evening of Tuesday, September 3, 2019.   Sir Knight Steve Gentz, Past Grand Knight of Council 11672 and member of the Fourth Degree, serves as a volunteer crewman on this vessel and spends part of each year sailing it to different areas in the country for the public to tour and see a piece of history.  This ship is entirely volunteer supported with all income coming from visitors touring the ship during the annual cruise and at its home port in Evansville, IN.  The primary mission of the USS LST Ship Memorial is to educate its visitors to the role of the LST in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.  It is th...
