On November 6th, Jerry Brecher, State Special Olympic Chairman and State Deputy Bill Mores attended the Alabama Special Olympics Meeting and Awards Luncheon where they were recognized as the 2024 Outstanding Organization.  This award recognizes all the man-hours and financial support that councils from all around Alabama give to this wonderful organization.  Thank you councils for all you do to support the Special Olympics!   A special thank you to Jerry Brecher, our State Special Olympic Chairman, for many years of involvement with this organization and keeping us informed as to how we can support them. Dear Brother Knights,       Have you ever wondered “Why does My Council Only Get The Silver Rose for one (1) Day, or Why I cannot reserve it on a specific date or why it cannot be received for our usually scheduled Mass.      There are approximately 137 Parishes and missions throughout the Great State of Alabama and the state will host the “Silver Rose” for just 30 days before it moves on to Mississippi.      There are a total of 8 routes, that all start their journey in late February or early March, across North America. This project is led by the Organization "Sleep in Heavenly Peace", a national organization who has provided 61,080 beds across the US. However, there are 161,613 beds needed! Seminarian’s Dinner in Dothan

Knights of Columbus Council 6727 at St. Columba Parish in Dothan held its annual seminarian dinner at the parish on July 12 to financially support 15 seminarians of the Archdiocese of Mobile. Following an initial gathering and social hour, Master of Ceremonies Chris Hart welcomed guests and dignitaries, including Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi, keynote speaker Tom Riello and area clergy. St. Columba pastor Fr. Jim Dane gave the blessing before the meal. Following Archbishop Rodi’s introduction of the seminarians, Archdiocese of Mobile Vocations Director Fr. Patrick Gilbreath briefly discussed his idea for the “25 for 25” prayer intention. He is personally praying for 25 seminarians in the year 2025 and will also invite parishes to do so.
